Performance Compared with Intel‑Based MacBook Air: Testing conducted by Apple in April and May 2023 using production 13‑inch MacBook Air systems and pre-production 15‑inch MacBook Air systems all with Apple M2, 8‑core CPU, 10‑core GPU, 24GB of RAM and 2TB SSD, as well as production 1.2GHz quad‑core Intel Core i7–based MacBook Air systems with Intel Iris Plus Graphics, 16GB of RAM and 2TB SSD. Final Cut Pro 10.6.6 tested using a complex 2‑minute project with 4K ProRes 422 media. Performance tests are conducted using specific computer systems and reflect the approximate performance of MacBook Air.

Performance Compared with MacBook Air (M1): Testing conducted by Apple in May 2022 using pre-production 13‑inch MacBook Air systems with Apple M2, 8‑core CPU, 10‑core GPU and 24GB of RAM, and production MacBook Air systems with Apple M1, 8‑core CPU, 8‑core GPU and 16GB of RAM, all configured with 2TB SSD, as well as production 1.6GHz dual‑core Intel Core i5–based MacBook Air systems with Intel UHD Graphics 617, 16GB of RAM and 1TB SSD. Final Cut Pro 10.6.2 tested using a complex 2‑minute project with 4K ProRes 422 media. Performance tests are conducted using specific computer systems and reflect the approximate performance of MacBook Air.

Display: Screen size is measured diagonally. The displays on the 13‑inch and 15‑inch MacBook Air with M2 and the 14‑inch MacBook Pro have rounded corners at the top. When measured as a standard rectangular shape, the screens are 13.6 inches, 15.3 inches and 14.2 inches diagonally (actual viewable area is less).

Storage: 1GB = 1 billion bytes and 1TB = 1 trillion bytes; actual formatted capacity is less.
